Capsule Geology

The Trump showing is located between Collins and Blackbear creeks, approximately 1.8 kilometres east of Spanish Creek.

The area is underlain by Upper Triassic black phyllitic argillites, andesite breccias and tuffs which are metamorphosed to greenschist facies. Part of the black phyllite succession has been informally correlated with the Nicola Group; these have also been informally referred to as the Quesnel River Group sediments.

Locally, quartz veining occurs in both the argillite and andesite units but four mineralized quartz veins are hosted by phyllitic argillite. Mineralization consists of discontinuous blebs of argentiferous galena and disseminated pyrite in the quartz veins. Disseminated pyrite also occurs throughout the argillite. Sericitic alteration halos up to 3 metres are associated with the galena-bearing veins.

In 1984, select grab samples of mineralized quartz vein material assayed up to 2.495 per cent lead and 458.4 grams per tonne silver (Sample 4-7131; Assessment Report 13285).

In 1998, two samples (18-07-98-66 and 19-07-98-69) from the Trump occurrence yielded up to 53.72 per cent lead, 1938 grams per tonne silver and 0.8 gram per tonne gold (Assessment Report 25904).

In 2008, a grab sample (86110) assayed 44.7 grams per tonne silver and 1.27 per cent lead (Turna, R. (2009-10-05): Technical Report on the Black Bear Property).

In 2010, a grab sample of pure galena (LC-04) assayed 2310 grams per tonne silver and 76.8 per cent lead, while a sample (LC-03) of quartz vein material yielded up to 1850 grams per tonne silver and 56.5 per cent lead. Also at this time, a 1.0 metre chip sample (LC-05) yielded 350 grams per tonne silver and 11.1 per cent lead (Assessment Report 32209).

Work History

The area has historically been explored in conjunction with the Providence (MINFILE 093A 003) past-producing mine. In 1984, the area was prospected and sampled as the Trump and Hearts 1-2 claims by Homestake Canada Inc. During 1987 through 1989, Priority Ventures completed programs of prospecting, geological mapping, geochemical sampling and six NQ-size drill holes, totalling 294.4 metres, on the area as the Otto claims.

During 1996 through 2000, Barker Minerals Ltd. completed programs of prospecting, reconnaissance rock and stream sediment sampling, geological mapping and ground geophysical surveys on the area.

In 2008, Barker Minerals prospected and sampled the area.

In 2010, Barker Minerals Ltd. completed 2000 metres of trenching in 12 trenches on the area.
